Together they raised five children, Virginia, Carol, David, Jane and Mark. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church from the time she got married until the time of her death.

Lucille had many interests, including playing bridge, which she did for many years. She did sewing and alterations, and loved handiwork such as crocheting, cross stitching and knitting. In addition, she was an avid reader, a trait she passed on to her children. In the two years prior to her death, she arranged flowers at the dining tables at Heritage Middleton every Tuesday, which proved to be one of her favorite activities.
