Krakow, Belva E. MADISON - Belva E. Krakow, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Jan. 26, 1914, in Wyoming township, to Frances Peter and Ruth (La Bounty) Wepking. Belva worked at Oscar Mayer for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, and loved her grandchildren. Belva had a great life. She is survived by her son, Carl Krakow; daughter, Evelyn (Gilbert) Kessenich; five grandchildren, Kathy (Dave) Caulfield, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Krakow, Dan (Jean) Kessenich, Randy (Karen) Kessenich and Tammy (Gerald) Pooch; 11 great-grandchildren, Grace, Emily, Theresa, Todd, Katie, Anne, Joe, Crista, Scott, Karl and Tyson; four great-great-grandchildren, Jack, Oliver, Greer and Audrey; a sister, Ilene (David) Matson; and brothers, Arvin (Hazel) Wepking and Zennith (Julie) Wepking. Belva was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Ernest; her parents; and three sisters, Doris, Erma and Verda. Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, with the Rev. Mark Bartels presiding. Visitation will be at ROSELAWN CHAPEL from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. I met Belva only once and enjoyed knowing her. She was definitely a 'people' person, loving family and being loved by them. She was in her 90s when I met her, and I was impressed with how active she stayed and what a cheerful attitude she had. I am very thankful I got to meet her. Later, she would send me poetry and brief notes, always upbeat and never complaining. I look forward to meeting her again 'across the river'.
