OREGON-On the evening of Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, Donald John "Don" Haggerty passed away in the arms of his devoted wife. He was 66 years old. Don was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and grew up in Little Falls, Minnesota. He was the second child, and the first son of Lois (Cleveland) and Virgil Haggerty. Don served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1971. He was a pastor and minister from 1972 until he passed away. Don was a great man for God and everyone who knew him will tell you he was the kindest man they knew. He was loved and respected by many. Don would say that his greatest achievement and joy in life was being a father to his four beautiful children. Don is survived by his beautiful wife, Martha; four loving children, Brian, Kyle, Jonathan (Vanessa) and Robyn Haggerty; his mother, Lois (Cleveland) Haggerty; brothers and sisters, Sharron, Richard, Patrick, Lori, Paula, Joseph, James, Carole, Scott, Julie, Daniel, Timothy and Mary; and many much loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil; sister, Joni; and brother, Thom. Special thanks to our dear friends who have helped us immeasurably. Dear Marte and family, I am so deeply saddened to receive this news. Marte I know from our many conversations that he was truly your soulmate. While no words can say enough to comfort you, I hope that you will find comfort in the many years of memories you have and in the pride you can take in the children that you raised together. Please know that we are thinking of you and your family through this difficult time. Lauren & Dean Yeazel

My daddy has always been there to scoop me ice cream, listen to sappy 70's music with me, and save me whenever my car broke down. I get my kind heart from my dad, but I can only hope to someday become as selfless as he was. My dad was hardworking, humble, forgiving, and the best man I have ever known. The lessons he taught me and the love he gave me are absolutely priceless. I am so proud to be my father's daughter. I could never possibly put into words how much he meant to me. I am excited to see Dad in the sky when Jesus Christ comes back.

I'm so sorry for your loss, my prayers continue for each one of you as God heals your hearts. I will miss running into Donnie around town, he always had such an amazing way to make you feel special and loved, and he always took the time to stop and see how i was doing. I always left with a great big smile and a squishy heart. With much love, Lori Gillespie

I don't know where to begin, I guess at the beginning, growing up around the Haggerty's was to say the least an experience of a life time, I was friends with Donnies sisters especially Joni, Lori and Carol, and not having big brothers they were more then happy to share theirs, my first introduction to the Beatles was through those big brothers, what a gentle, caring man Donnie was and he will forever be thought of with a smile, every time I hear a Beatle song this amazing family comes to mind, with that said, my heart felt sympathy to all the Haggertys so sorry for your loss.
