Dad,Thank you for being the caring, loving father that you were to me and Eric and his children and the whole family. There will not be a day that goes by that we won't remember you in a million different ways. Your love of children and always give the kids a dollar from "grandpa", your sweet tooth and love of cookies and candy and your love of tomatoes and ham will always be remembered. Every year when we celebrate Eric's birthday it will also be your birthday as well. Thank you for creating wonderful memories of a good and honorable father and grandfather. You will be missed greatly. Love, Your daughter Fay

Allen was a great father who always was very proud of his family. He would always asked how his grandchildren were doing, and was happy and content when family was around to visit. He kept telling me how proud he was of me.I would tell Dad how proud of him I and his sisters were of him being our father. I like Allen became a Fire Chief and followed in his footsteps, spending 40 years of my life in the fire service.Dad showed me how great a profession being a firefighter was, and I never had any regrets following his career advise. Dad was a very dedicated public servant. Allen missed many family events because of his work ethic, but we all understood, his passion for his work. He was my mentor, and I could always call him for sound advise. One of Dad's request in his later years, was that he never be put in a nursing home. Thanks to the dedication of his family,Darci,Karen,Carol,Adrienne, The VA and others, Allen spent his final years at home.I am eternally grateful to Fay(his primary caregivers for four years),Sue,John and Mom for helping Dad. GOD SPEED!
