I got word my favorite physician I ever worked with at Monument Health passed away. Neurosurgeon, Dr. Wayne Wittenberg. Tears fill my eyes. He was a phenomenal physician and taught me a lot as his medical scribe/clinical assistant. Fond memories of this man. He respected me and treated me so well. RIP doc. I was just talking of you the day before your passing to a former hospital employee. ❤️🙏🏻 condolences to all who knew him. Carol I am sending you hugs and my condolences to your family. Love and prayers….Tammy Reif, Rapid City, SD

Sad day today as we received the news of one of our pheasant hunter’s passing. A little back ground on him…. Years ago BJ was having severe migraines so we made the trip to Rapid City, as my sister Tammy worked for him at the time, and he got us in right away. Little did we know that day that he would become one of our good friends and pheasant hunters. He was a great neurosurgeon and also let Casey shadow him while he was in high school and sparked even more interest in Casey’s love for neurology. Kind of ironic that Wayne moved back to Madison Wisconsin and Casey is just up the road in Milwaukee currently going to medical school. Dr. Wittenberg was a man of few words and very kind, caring, and obviously intelligent. BJ recalls whenever he would shoot a pheasant he would let out this excited “Wahoooo!” He loved his scotch and cigar after the hunt. I never did get a liking for either one of those, but we shared a lot of good times together nonetheless. Rest in peace Wayne and you will truly be missed by many and so much love sent to your friends and family. ❤️🙏
