Obituary

Harold Robert Meyer passed away of natural causes on August 29, 2026.  Born in Hammond, Ind., on September 23, 1951, his family moved from Milwaukee to Detroit then Lebanon, Tenn., where he graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy.

Harold moved to the Madison - Middletown area in the ‘70s and stayed for the rest of his life.  As a graduate from MATC, he was trained to be a machinist, worked with several businesses before starting his own.  A humble man, his faith was central in his life, and he treated people with kindness, generosity, and empathy. He was a member of Middleton Ionic Lodge No. 180, served as chaplain and volunteered for many charitable organizations.  Playing the guitar and singing, especially at church events, was a source of pleasure for him. He was a member of Dale Heights Presbyterian Church and later High Point Church, where he served as sexton for a number of years.

Harold is survived by his sister, Sally Marshall (Robert); niece, Sarah Marshall; and nephew, Drew Marshall, all of Wilmington, Del. Harold served as a father figure to Eric Mohr and worked to provide for his well-being.

A memorial service is planned in November at High Point Church. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold’s name may be made to High Point Church. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com

Harold loved to garden on his farm! He was always generous, and he let me and some UW-Madison international students plant a garden for several years. We even grew a giant pumpkin in 2023. We'll miss you Harold, but we know you're with the Lord. Until we see you again in eternity!
