Mal shared a lot of stories while getting haircuts. Stories of the horse track trips and traveling the state. He was a great guy and will be missed.

As a labor mediator with the WERC I mediated a lot of contracts with Mal. An employer representative once told me his greatest challenge was to keep his management team away from Mal. They liked him so much they "would give away the store" if Mal said it would resolve the contract dispute. He was a very nice man; never heard him raise his voice, preferred voluntary settlements over going to arbitration, loved the horses and will be greatly missed. One of a kind. Dennis McGilligan

My condolences to Mal's family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. I am a neighbor of Mal's at Sauk Gardens, living next door to him since I moved in. He (and his lovely daughter) were always pleasant to visit with. And I agree he liked to tell a story. Blessings to you all. Diane Dallman Sauk Gardens 205.
