OREGON - Janice Louise Freis (née Berglin) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on August 11, 2026. Born on June 9, 1953 in Daggett, MI, Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy came from the people she loved.

Jan shared 53 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Darrell Freis. The couple was married on July 7, 1973 in Stephenson, MI, and built a life filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories.

A loving mother of two children and proud grandmother of seven grandsons, Jan treasured every moment spent with her family. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s games and cheering them on from the sidelines. Her family was the center of her world, and she will be remembered for the love, encouragement, and warmth she gave so freely.

Jan found happiness and peace in tending to her flowers and plants, enjoying the beauty she helped create and sharing that beauty with those around her.

Jan is survived by her loving husband of 53 Years, Darrell; her two children, Derek (Dakonya) Freis and Katie (Zain) Heitz; seven grandchildren, Carston, Brant, Trevyn, Declan and Nolan Freis, and Greyson and Jaxon Heitz; brother, Bob (Shelly) Berglin; and sister-in-law, Cheri (Tim) Leiphart.
