Peter F. Roe

WAUNAKEE - Peter Roe, age 81, of Waunakee, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on March 5, 1945, in Eau Claire, the son of Helmer and Miriam (Farrar) Roe.

Peter graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1963. He later earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before receiving his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served for two years in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he was honorably discharged in 1974.

Peter was united in marriage to the love of his life Linda Ann Domer on June 10, 1967, in Eau Claire. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship and shared adventures.

Throughout his career and community life, Peter was a respected businessman and dedicated civic leader. He was the founder and owner of Badger Abstract and Title and the Dry Bean Saloon. He also served on the boards of directors for numerous banks and was an active member of the Tip Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County, Cherokee Country Club and the Blue Line Club.

Peter found joy in the simple pleasures of life and in the people he loved most. He enjoyed golfing, reading, watching movies, and spending time with his dogs. He loved traveling , which allowed he and his family to have many wonderful experiences. Hilton Head Island and Sanibel Island held very special memories for the entire family.  A lifelong sports enthusiast, he coached Kennedy Little League and many of his children's athletic teams. He rarely missed his grandchildren's games, performances, and activities, proudly cheering them on from the sidelines. Peter treasured time at the family cottage, long drives with Linda, and evenings spent with friends at Rex's Innkeeper.  

Peter is survived by his children, Grant Roe, Kara (Ken) Seifert, Michelle (Jamie) Wersland and Greg (Lynsey) Roe; grandchildren, Christian, Lilly, Easton, Will, Aspen, Hudson, Braden, Sophie, Ben, Graham and Charlotte; many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, his Badger Abstract friends whom he considered family; and loyal canine companion, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; daughter-in-law, Sheri; granddaughters, Hillary and Mia; parents; and sisters, Janet (Patrick) Barney and Judy (Richard) Gude.  

A funeral service will be held at MADISON CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY, 7118 Old Sauk Road, Madison, at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with Jen Petrica Bloesch presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. The luncheon will be held at Rex’s Innkeeper following the service. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Madison Kennedy Little League, Waunakee Senior Center or Patriots Youth Hockey Association.
