Obituary

Candice “Candi” (Ring) Clark passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Bowling Green, Ky., at home with her husband, Michael; daughter, Jessica; and grandchildren, Aiden, Dakota and Benjamin Clark. She loved her family fiercely. Anyone who knew her saw it instantly, and those who knew her well carried the warmth of that love with them. She lived her life with quiet selflessness, giving others kindness, charity, loyalty, and a strength that never wavered.

Candi was born in Shelbyville, Ind., on August 23, 1959, and she lived a life of giving. She devoted herself to helping those in need, especially through women’s shelters and animal rescue organizations. Her love for God was profound, and she placed her trust in Him from childhood. Her legacy endures in the many people who were blessed by her kindness and unwavering love.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Clark; daughter, Jessica Egerton; grandchildren, Aiden Egerton, Dakota Egerton and Benjamin Clark; beloved siblings, Holly Yingling, Randy Ring, and Kim Bartch; in-laws, Mary Riddle, Maggie Cybularz, Deb Clark, Joellen Malara, Pam Crowe, Julie Wall, Ed Clark, Karyn Chacon and Joan Snedeker. She also leaves behind her lifelong “Besties”, Lisa Powell, Jen Jones and Sue Broihahn; and a large and growing number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lois Ring, and Robert and Patricia Clark; her son, Benny Clark; her siblings-in-law, Laura Hansen and Joseph Clark; and the four-legged buddies she loved so dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., with a memorial service from 1 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Dear Mike, Jess, Aiden, Kota, Ben, and family, I love you and am with you in spirit and prayer. I know Candi was a bright, loving presence whose kind heart touched everyone she met. Her warmth, laughter, and fierce care for family and friends remain with us. She loved deeply, listened without judgment, and made ordinary moments feel meaningful — morning coffee chats, small acts of generosity, the way she celebrated others’ successes. Those memories keep her spirit alive. May we honor Candi by carrying forward her compassion: checking in on one another, speaking gently, and advocating for awareness of lung illness so others might be spared the same pain. My thoughts are with you and all who grieve her. "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever." — Winnie the Pooh
