Obituary
The world lost a force of nature when Douglas Lee “Doug” Hegge, 75, of Lodi, Wis., passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. Born on October 28, 1950, Doug packed more life into his 75 years than most could manage in a century. Doug was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a long-time member of the Dane American Legion. Doug was a master craftsman in upholstery, who loved the outdoors and Christmastime.
Above all he loved his family.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Charlotte Hegge; his three children, Kimberly (Kevin) Groskopf, Adam (Heather) Hegge and Jessica (Louis) Hegge; his adoring grandchildren, Elijah (Hannah) Quamme, Isaiah, Aiden Groskopf and Aliyah Hegge; and his siblings, Sharon (Donnie) Kruchten, Donald (Dixie) Hegge, Nancy (Bill) Clemens, Earl (Cindy) Hegge, Rocky (Lori) Hegge and Steve (Debbie) Hegge; nieces and nephews abound. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, followed by burial at Roselawn Cemetery, Monona, at 11:30 a.m. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at the DANE AMERICAN LEGION HALL, 124 N.
