Obituary

SUN PRAIRIE - Ralph Crews III was born on August 16, 1988, to his parents, Ralph and April Crews, at Munster Community Hospital in Munster, Ind. In 1994, at the age of 5, Ralph relocated to Sun Prairie Wis., with his family. Ralph developed a love for basketball and attended multiple basketball camps at a young age, where he developed a remarkable skill of ball handling. He performed at the University of Wisconsin Men's basketball games during half-time, showing his ball handling skills. He was a little Badger. At a later age Ralph attended Marshall High School in Marshall, Wis., where he played football and basketball. He graduated from Marshall in 2007. In the same year Ralph was recruited to play college ball at St Mary's University in Winona, Minn.

Ralph met his wife in the summer of 2010. They were married on July 28, 2018, and have been raising four beautiful children together. His children made his world go ‘round. He was coach and dad. Ralph was also baptized and shared his faith on April 3, 2016, at Blackhawk Church.

Ralph mentored many kids through coaching and loved encouraging them through their basketball careers. He was in his element when he was able to teach and inspire others.

He was a very outgoing person who loved people. He had a contagious smile with an infectious personality. He was loved and will be missed by so many. We will make sure that legacy lives on.

I was lucky enough to coach Ralph in basketball when he was a youngster. He ran point for me. We had a very special group that includes a national champion but even among all that talent Ralph stood out. He was leader, and he absolutely hated to lose. I followed Ralph on his journey thru hs n college and reconnected with him couple years ago. The only thing I saw Ralph do more than hate to lose was love his family! He was an amazing father and I loved chopping it up w him bout his daughters ball n old memories or just asking bout his folks n lil bro whom he loved so dearly. Ralph’s loss will be felt thru the entire sp community and my deepest condolences go out to his family.

Ralph played basketball with our son, Casey, for many years starting with Wildcats, then Randolph and through high school. They were teammates and friends. The Crews family became part of our basketball family. What I remember most is Ralph’s contagious smile. He will be missed. The Franklins

My deepest condolences are extended to the Crews family. Ralph is my "little" cousin. I recall watching him grow up when we visited April and Ralph Jr in Wisconsin, or when they would come visit my mother and dad, Lee and Ron Carter, in Indiana. Ralph has always had an infectious personality and he always loved his family. He will truly be missed. I pray that his legacy continues to live on. I will be in constant prayer for his family and friends. Love, Krystyn ("Krysy") and Krystopher Atlanta, GA
