Jeanette was an amazing mentor and teacher when I was a young, wet behind ears, softball player. She shaped my work ethic and she taught me lessons that I took into adulthood that have continued to serve me very well. The care, compassion and love that she shared was something that I tried to pay forward in my various roles in life; from a coach to cop and then a caregiver.
Jeanette and I reconnected recently, after many many years. Being able to serve as one of Jeanette’s caregivers over the past few years was a pleasure, a true gift that I will forever be grateful for. We forged a bond during that time. We shared lots of laughs. We shed some tears. We did a million crosswords, played more games of Uno than I could ever imagine and we sang 70’s music together almost everyday. There is a hole in my heart right now that I will try to fill each day with all of the memories that I have of her life so well lived. Thank you Jeanette and Michelle for making me a part of your family and trusting me to care for such a valuable gem.
I miss you Jeanette…
So much love to you…. Lisa

I can never hear “Sweet Dreams are Made of This” and not think of Jeanette. I met her through her daughter Michelle and our mutual love of softball. I got to know her through spending many, many weekends at various softball diamonds near and far from home over a lot of wonderful years!
Jeanette was a gift to anyone who met her and an inspiration to all of us who knew her. Although I hadn’t seen her for awhile, I had the chance to stop by on Friday, May 16- just a day before she left us. My last words to her were “I love you” and she responded “I love you, too”.
What a beautiful lady and a beautiful life. I will miss you, my friend.
Michelle, Mark and family - I am so very sorry for your loss, but I know she is at peace and no longer in pain.

My deepest condolences to the family of Jeanette. I was blessed to have known and worked at UW Hospital Peds Pulmonary, when Jeanette was my Supervisor! Such a kind and special person! We had the same birth day (Nov. 4). God's blessings! Holly Markley (and husband Steven, who Jeanette knew as well). 🙏

My profound sympathies to Jeanette's children & family. Such a well written tribute to a beautiful, strong & kind woman & human being. I knew Jeanette from UW Hospital Peds Gastroenterology - she hired me at a time when I very much needed a change in my career. All administrators/supervisors should be as empathetic, understanding & emotionally intelligent as Jeanette. Fly high angel - twinkle with the stars.
