What a wonderful tribute to his life you have written. I did not know him but I wish I had. I'm 70 years old And I read many obituaries, but this one touched my heart because he is so young. May all of you cherish the memories you have of him, forever. Blessings to all of you who knew and loved him, mostly his girlfriend. Thinking of you all, Jan Thiel, McFarland.

Liz, John and family, my deepest condolences on the loss of Carlos. I have so many wonderful memories of your family during your time in Orono. My time with Carlos, "Charlie" to me, was always happy, interesting and inspiring. My memories of Charlie are of a happy young man who loved sharing stories, expressed a great imagination, and achieved success as narrator of school plays. Polite, charming and persistent it was clear that Charlie was supported by a kind, supportive and loving family. I will always cherish the time we spent together. With love and sympathy, Judy S.

I remember Carlos from Monona Grove HS, and I'm so very saddened by his passing. Carlos was a "regular" in my attendance office, not because he was often late, but because he always found solace there along with kindness and caring. He was willing to share his life with me, and his struggles, and I am richer for having known him. Wishing Carlos, and everyone who cherished him, peace, beautiful memories, and the knowledge that he was a wonderful, sensitive soul. He made a difference here in this world.

Liz, John and family, We are so sorry for this deep loss. We remember Charlie (Carlos) with great fondness, especially his kindness, creativity and enthusiasm for life during his years in Orono. He was supported by the exceptional love, kindness and creativity of his parents. Liz, Welch and their sons were a wonderful family, and Charlie was a unique individual. His life and legacy are beautifully captured in this obituary. Although his life was way too short, he touched so many people. With love, Sue Erich and Stom Ohno
