Obituary

LODI, WISCONSIN-Andre M. Kliczak, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025.

Andre was born on September 21, 1953.  The son of polish immigrants Joannes Zenon Kliczak and Krystyna Kaczkonska. Andre and his sister Barbara grew up within a Polish community in Detroit Michigan.

After High School, Andre went on to attend college at Wayne State University where he graduated with a degree in Marketing.  He had a strong work ethic and was proud of his many accomplishments over the years he spent as a Project Manager in global markets.

Andre was a fun loving, kind and considerate friend.  He had a great sense of humor and always had a story to tell. He loved traveling the world for work and pleasure.

Andre married Sherri Sturtz on September 8, 1978, in Green Bay Wisconsin.  Together they raised a son Cristopher. They parted in 1998.

On June 10, 2000, Andre married Jean (Bainbridge) Schmalzer. Jean has a daughter, Kristian (Schmalzer) Smith which Andre treated as his own.  Together their blended family moved to Mazomanie, Wisconsin.  Andre loved the community and made many friends.  In 2017, Andre and Jean sold their home in Mazomanie and moved to the Okee Area on Lake Wisconsin.  Andre embraced his new lake life and the many new friends he made in the Lodi area.

Andre is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Cristopher (Missy); daughter, Kristi (Joe); grandchildren, Austin Smith, Alex Smith, Kendall Kliczak and Calvin Kliczak; his ex-wife, Sherri Kliczak; his sister, Barbara (Al) and many extended family members.

Andre is preceded in death by his parents and Mother-in-law, Carmella Bainbridge.

A celebration of life luncheon will be held in Andre’s honor on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Lucky’s on the Lake, W11579 Highway V, Lodi, Wisconsin 53555 beginning at noon.  Andre’s final resting place will be in the Mazomanie Cemetery in Mazomanie Wisconsin.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Many thanks for all the support, Andre received from friends and family over the past year as well as Agrace Hospice Care.  We are eternally grateful for your kindness.

I am so very sorry to hear of Andre's passing. I had the pleasure working with him when he served on a Village committee. He crafted a "cartoonish" map of the Village and I am so glad I kept one of the. Every time I ook at it, it puts a smile on my face. He was always smiling and shared a grwat sense of humor!!! The world will definitely miss him. My deepset sympathies to his family. P.S. if any of you would like a picture or color copy of the map, please do not hesitate to contact me. Andre and I met as work colleagues in the 90s and have been good friends ever since. We had several mutual interests and enjoyed many good times together over the years, including those special times with our spouses. He was a joy to be with. And what a fun sense of humor! It was such a shock to hear of his passing, especially after a recent and enjoyable visit with him and Jean. I still can't believe it. The attached photo is a fond kayaking memory with Jean & Andre from August of 2016 near the sea caves of the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior. Condolences to Jean and all relatives from Bob & Winnie. RIP my good friend. Thank you for all the joy and wonderful memories. You'll be dearly missed.
