If you had crossed paths with Herb you were a lucky person! We lost a great guy!!!

I planted a tree for Nancy when you lost her and you were so moved by it, I’m planting one for you in the same area of the woods. I know you went and visited that place on more than one occasion. Now you can be at peace there as well. Rest in Peace, my friend. It was an honor to know you and a bigger honor to be able to carry those memories. Rick

I knew Herb since 1990 opening the first Best Buy in Madison. A gentle giant who towered over me but had much to give. Many memories and he passed a lot of knowledge to me and co-workers. Godspeed Herb.

I am so very sorry to read of Herb's passing. I was a long time neighbor across the street on Walton Pl and enjoyed watching all of the children grow up. I am a neighbor of Herb's parents and met him when his mother passed. I did not ever actually meet him in person. He called me to tell me about his Mom, and though we had never met before, we talked for about an hour. He was a very kind, thoughtful, and respectful man. I did chat with him after that occasionally regarding his father, and always found him to be a very caring soul. I am so sorry for you loss. ~Sarah West Whitcomb and Family
