Carole graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School and UW-Madison. She was united in marriage to Paul Knopp at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison in 1967. Carole worked as a teacher for the Madison School District. She was a faithful member of First Unitarian Society Church and American Association of University of Women. She was instrumental in starting the Wausau Conservatory of Music. She was an avid reader and was involved with book clubs and book sales. She loved gardening and maintaining her home and independence. She was a cat lover through and through and wanted to save them all.
