Obituary

MADISON - Hannah Elizabeth May Holschbach, age 32, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at UW Hospital. She was born on Oct. 14, 1991, in Madison, the daughter of Michael and Judith (Prickett) Holschbach.

Hannah graduated from LaFollette High School in 2010.  She was a proud member of Carpenters and Jointers Union Local 314 and worked for many local companies over the years, most recently with Miron Construction. Hannah was a participating member of Fight Prime and Forward Thai Boxing and was a student of both Muay Thai and Judo. She attained the level of brown belt in Judo and brown sash in Muay Thai.

Hannah was an adventurous soul and was never afraid to try new things. Her passion for art was not only apparent in her creative endeavors but also in her ability to see beauty in the simplest of things. She found solace and inspiration in the great outdoors where she truly felt at home hiking and mushroom hunting. Hannah's love for birds was matchless; not only did she relish her time with the numerous exotic birds she adopted through the years but took great pride in the care she provided. She also devoted her time as a volunteer at an exotic bird sanctuary. Her talents also extended to the realm of music, where she skillfully played multiple instruments, and spoke fluently in multiple languages.

Hannah will be missed by her father, Michael; brother, Joseph (Danielle) Holschbach; niece, Lainey Holschbach; significant other, Tanner Bruning; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith; three aunts, one uncle, and one cousin.

A celebration of life will be held at THE EAST SIDE CLUB, 3735 Monona Drive, Madison, from 12 noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024.

Hannah's family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the UW Hospital and the Carbone Cancer Center for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave her throughout her journey. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Hannah was at the sanctuary when we were looking to adopt a parrot and although we didn’t find what we were looking for we ended up being very involved with the sanctuary for three years and Hannah was always kind and supportive.

Hannah was really into Exotic birds as an early teen! She took my Daughter on a private tour of the Bird sanctuary when she was young and Really took the time to explain about the different Birds and where they were from and some of the Rehab they did on injured birds! Her free Spirit was always there in Everything she did! My daughter still talks about all the different birds and the Knowledge that Hannah told her about! It is so sad that she had such a short time to share Her talents with other people! She was an extraordinary young woman! Rich and Chris Freeland
