EVANSVILLE - Eunice E. Cardarelle, age 87, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on June 26, 1937, in Pardeeville, Wis., the daughter of Walter and Esther (Kamrath) Amera.
Eunice graduated from Central High School in 1955. She married Ardell Cardarelle on July 29, 1983, in Madison. Prior to retirement, Eunice worked in the trucking industry as a dispatcher. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with friends and loved playing cards, whether solitaire, euchre or whatever brought friends together. She especially liked getting together with high school friends for lunch at least once a month. Earlier in her life, she crocheted beautiful afghans for family members and friends. Each piece was crafted with care and love, often incorporating intricate patterns and vibrant colors that showcased her skill and creativity. She also took the time to make baby blankets for newborns, ensuring that each new arrival in the family or among friends was welcomed with a warm, handmade gift. Her crocheting was not just a hobby but a heartfelt expression of her love and dedication to those she cared about. At family gatherings, she was the life of the party, known for her incredible sense of humor that often left everyone in tears from laughter. She cherished her time with her grandchildren, whose visits always brought a smile to her face and filled her with joy.
Eunice was also an avid animal lover. The family had many pets over the years. She had a special bond with each one, treating them as cherished members of the family. Her pets brought her immense joy and comfort. Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her, and she often shared heartwarming stories about her pets' antics and unique personalities.
Eunice is survived by her husband, Ardell Cardarelle; son, David (Cathy) Cook; stepsons, Gregory Cardarelle and Jeffery Cardarelle; stepdaughter, Lisa Galloway; grandchildren, Laurence Lee, Jonathan Cook, and Samantha Cook; and sisters, Mary (Amera) Schmaltz, Dorothy (Amera) Kruse, and Phyllis (Amera) Engelhardt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lynnette Lee; son, Phillip Cook; and brother, Charles Amera.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024.
