LODI - Dixie Day Aiken, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2024, with family by her side.

Dixie was born on December 22, 1942, to James and Marian Rundle. She attended Mineral Point High School. On March 22, 1963, she married the love of her life, Duane Aiken in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.

Following their marriage, they lived in Minnesota and Iowa before residing to Okee in 1971.

Dixie is survived by her husband of 60 years, two children Don (Kay) Aiken and Darcee (Vernon) Breunig along with grandchildren, Cassie (Russ) Morter, Jacob (Karli English) Aiken, Hunter and Collin Breunig along with her great-grandchildren Lilyanna, Laya and Iyla (April 2024). Dixie is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Daniel Aiken.

Dixie will be remembered for her generosity and feisty personality. She was always there for family, friends, neighbors and the occasional stray Putsy-wutz.

She rarely missed the weekly trip to Club 23 so Toni could make her a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet (with olives) and her favorite waitress Rae Ann could serve them dinner. She was known for her bling, if it didn’t sparkle, she wouldn’t wear it.

Okee will need to find someone else to keep a watchful eye on the neighborhood, her shift is over.

We would like to thank the Agrace team for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Life will be held on February 25th from 1-3pm at the DORF HAUS, 8931 County Hwy Y, Roxbury.

A private interment will take place at a later date.
