Obituary

Giovanna (Paolone) Delisio, beloved Wife of 58 years, Mother and Nonna, passed away in the evening of Oct. 16, 2023, in Verona, Wis. Giovanna was born in Gagliano Aterno, Italy on April 19, 1934, to Rocco and Antonina Paolone.

Giovana moved to Canada when she was 18 and two years later, she moved to North Hollywood, Calif., where she married her husband. They built the house that she then lived in until July 2023 when she moved to Verona, Wis. Giovanna was full of life and remained positive until her passing. She was a born leader and was instrumental in the formation and startup of the Abruzzesi é Molisani di California Italian Club where she had the honor of being President of the Club at two different times. She also cared for some neighborhood children during her years of living in North Hollywood, one of which she stayed in touch with until her passing.

Giovanna loved throwing and attending parties and functions some of which included the likes of Ed Asner, and other actors/actresses from the Mary Tyler Moore Show, as her younger brother was on the show as well. She also loved going on adventures with family and friends, and one of her favorite past times, among others, included playing the slot machines.

God, family, friends, traveling, and adventures were the loves of her life.

Giovanna leaves behind to hold her in their memories her son, Carmine DeLisio; daughter-in- law, Nancy DeLisio; grandson, Alessandro DeLisio; sister, Francesca Paolone; as well as a host of treasured nephews, nieces and friends.

Our deepest condolences. When I think of Giovanna, I smile. She was a great "true story teller". Her Mr. Wolf story and identifying her relative at a morgue were my favorites. She'll have them laughing in heaven.
