Obituary
MOUNT HOREB / DARLINGTON - Sheryl “Sheri” Chellevold, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, at St. Mary's Care Center. She was born on Oct. 29, 1948, in Tunnel City, Wis., the daughter of Forrest “Jake” and Geraldine (Chitwood) Bloyer.
Sheri graduated from Tomah High School. She was united in marriage to David Chellevold on Nov. 23, 1968, in Ashwaubenon. She worked as a property manager for Pioneer Property Management until her retirement.
Sheri loved singing and making music. She taught piano and voice lessons in the Darlington community for many years. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and maintaining a very clean household.
Sheri is survived by her daughter, Jody Chellevold of Mount Horeb; sons, Chad Chellevold of Westfield, Ind., and Doug (Tamara) Chellevold of Menomonee Falls; eight grandchildren, Morgan, Carson and Abbey Brummer, Jake and Cole Chellevold, Johnny Strand, Evan and Sofia Chellevold; sister, Susan Ganshert of Brooklyn; and brother-in-law, Larry (Karen) Chellevold. She is also survived by her honorary sons, Larry (Teri) Green of Blanchardville, Julio (Patricia) Daud, and Renato (Gigi) Daud of Asuncion, Paraguay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, in December of 2020; her parents; a granddaughter, Kailyn Brummer; and her brothers-in-law, Larry Ganshert, Ronald Chellevold and Dean Chellevold.
A memorial service will be held at EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 315 E. Main St., Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, with the Rev. John Twiton presiding. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Mount Horeb. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Sheri’s name to SSM Hospice. The family wishes to thank the kind and compassionate staff of SSM Hospice and St. Mary's Care Center for their care of Mom in her final years.
