Duane will truly be missed by my family, as well as all of the children who saw him everyday while crossing Windsor Road. He was a wonderful person and always had a smile on his face and a fun story to share. Thank you for always protecting everyone Duane. You were the best.

We always looked forward to talking with Duane on our walks to and from school - he was truly a bright spot in our day! Thank you, Duane, for keeping our children safe each day outside of WES. You were beloved by the Wolf Hollow neighborhood and are truly missed by children and parents alike. Sincerest condolences to your family. We love you. We miss you. We are forever grateful for you.

Duane was a much loved and respected neighborhood friend. We had many fun filled parties back and forth over the years. He was a caring man and will be missed very much by all of us. He knows we will be here to comfort and console his family. Rest well, Duane. Till we meet again. Mike and Karen Brynd

A “Klink” story: Pop Tops were a transition reserve parachute , clipped onto the front chest area of a parachute harness on the top, below the 3-rings, and secured on the bottom thru rings mounted low on the harness via straps that are secured with Velcro to each side of parachute container. While performing an 8-way exhibition skydive, Jerry was docked next to Klink. Jerry noticed Klink’s lower attachment had come loose, and the pop top flipped up to cover his face. Sensing potential danger, Jerry reached over and returned the reserve to its proper position. Klink’s look seemed to approve, only to have it flip quickly back up into his face! Being safety conscious, Jerry again flipped it back down, but Klink’s next glance wasn’t quite as grateful. Jerry tried to hold it back down, however (and predictably) it snapped back up rather violently and smacked him sharply in the face. Sorry, big guy! Well, the outcome, thankfully, was uneventful and all landed fine. Potentially dangerous but ultimately hilarious, Klink was often the focal point of great stories and amazing memories. Yes, he is and always will be fondly remembered…RIP Big Guy… the Cheeses
