MONONA - Eric Joseph Jandro, age 39, of Monona, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at UW Hospital and Clinics after a valiant battle with antiphospholipid syndrome. He was born on March 1, 1983, in Escanaba, Mich., the son of Joseph Jandro and Carol (Augustson) McMeen.

Eric graduated from Edgewood High School with the Class of 2001 and from the Madison Media Institute in 2006. After college, Eric was employed by Radio Shack Corp, managing stores in the Madison and Illinois area. Currently, Eric worked as an audio editor for WMVO Radio station, a job he truly loved!

Eric enjoyed anything electronic, from playing video games to assisting family and friends with their devices, which he often did. He had a curious mind and was always eager to learn about new things related to nature, music, and other countries. Eric loved music, especially jazz, and enjoyed learning and watching nature shows. He was able to travel to both Sweden and Italy and enjoyed both. Family gatherings and cooking for others brought him great joy. He had a fun sense of humor and a quick wit as well as a generous spirit with a quiet soul. He was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Eric is survived by his parents; stepfather, Daniel McMeen; sister, Sara Jandro; brothers, Chris (Brooke) Jandro and James (Kat) Jandro; nephew, Alexander Jandro; maternal grandmother, Jean Augustson; paternal grandmother, Rose Jandro; along with aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carroll Augustson; and paternal grandfather, Marvin Jandro.

A celebration of life will be held at NATURAL PATH SANCTUARY - FARLEY CENTER, 2299 Spring Rose Road, Verona, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Eric's family would like to thank all of his doctors and therapists at UW Health for the excellent care they provided and for helping him navigate his disease. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
