Grace Mae Brezenski
September 07, 2008 - July 30, 2022
Obituary
Grace Mae Brezenski became our angel on Saturday, July 30, 2022. She was born on Sept. 7, 2008, to her parents, Amanda and Beau Brezenski. Grace was born with Emanuel Syndrome and bravely battled many health complications in her life.
Grace’s smile was contagious and lit up a room. She loved being with her family. Grace was happiest rocking with her mom and dad each night before bed. Listening to the craziness of her loud brothers, Brady and Finley, made her smile. Grace was the best big sister, sitting in cold rinks, cheering on her brothers at their hockey games. Summertime was her favorite time of year. Grace enjoyed every moment of being outside. The bright sun, warm walks, watching her dog, Amara, chase bubbles, and reading stories on the deck made her days perfect.
Grace was going into 8th grade at Indian Mound Middle School. She was a popular girl known for her amazing shoe collection. Grace loved her teachers and classmates. She enjoyed the many signs and special book readings her classmates sent to her when she couldn’t be in school.
Although Grace was a student, she taught her teachers, classmates, and everyone who met her more than you could ever learn from school. Grace faced Emanuel Syndrome and the health challenges that came with it with resilience that inspired all who knew of her story.
Grace is survived by her parents; her brothers, Brady and Finley; and her dog, Amara. She is also loved by her grandparents, John and Deb Harbort and Tim and Kathy (Bettis) Wagner; her granny great, Donna Smith; her uncles and aunts, Tom and Ann Brezenski, Brian and Jodi Brezenski, Jared Harbort and Rakhi Nikhanj, Laura Wagner and Ryan Gericke, and Dana Wagner; as well as her cousins, Kelsey, Will, Emma, Drew, Greta, Connor, Mason, and Brayden.
Grace is joining many loved ones in heaven including grandpa, Bob Brezenski; great-grandparents, John and Dottie Harbort; great-grandpa, Wayne Smith; great-grandpa, Phillip Town; and great-grandparents, Gertrude and Thomas Bettis.
A funeral service will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, at 12 noon on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022. A celebration of life will follow at BUCK & HONEY’S, 800 W. Broadway, Monona. A visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
Although we are heartbroken, we are celebrating Grace being healed, walking, talking, and dancing for the first time with her grandma great in heaven. Grace sweet girl, we are so thankful God gave us you. We will love you forever and always. Mom, Dad, Brady, Finley, and Amara.
