Jan, I’m so sorry to learn of your loss. You have my deepest condolences. My parents loved having you both as great neighbors while living at Rolling Meadows. If I (Kelle) needed a new recipe, I could always look to Ed. He will be missed by many! -Kelle Bates

Jan, Connie and myself are so sorry for your and your families loss of Ed. Ed was such a mentor to myself and so many others. Ed was such a great person, always remember that he was the very 1st Electrical Inspector I had encountered and how I always had so much respect for him. Ed has done so much for the electrical industry not only in Wisconsin, where he made such a huge positive impact, but all over the United States, where he was so respected for his knowledge of the electrical Codes and practices. Prayers to you and your family.

Ed was a valued expert on the National and Wisconsin Electrical Code. I was also a UW EE grad and worked for the Public Service Commission. We served on each other's electrical code committees during the periodical revision of the Wisconsin codes and consulted each other on electrical safety questions. Condolences to his family. Jan and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Ed was a great guy and such an ambassador for IAEI. I remember my first Wisconsin IAEI meeting that I met Ed. He took me under his wing and pretty much introduced me to everyone individually and made me feel welcome. Ed was a mentor and example for all in the industry to follow. I have fond memories of traveling to IAEI chapter meetings all over the Western Section with Ed and Jan, meeting at 5 pm in the bar and seeking out the nearest Elks Club for dinner. I would catch up with Jan and she would update me on which grandchild was coming to stay with them for the summer and I would fill them in how big my kids were getting. I always enjoyed spending time with Ed and Jan. May God bless Ed and give Jan strength in this difficult time.
