I had the pleasure of moving in next door to Pat at the lakehouse in FL in December of this past year. He was so helpful, offering any tool I needed to renovate the place, trapping armadillas and even killing a snake for me (I didn't even have a shovel). Going through a divorce and moving 2 hrs from everyone I knew was scary but knowing he was next door was very comforting. I don't think he knew how much his kindness and him just being there meant to me. Reading about his life makes me love him even more! No wonder we got along.
