Obituary
BARABOO - Christine C. Speth, age 72, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on May 25, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of George and Virginia (Fadness) Norgord.
Chris graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1971. She married Leonard Speth on July 14, 2005. Chris and Leonard owned a restaurant, Speth's on Exchange in Brodhead. She was a member of Lake City Church and volunteered at St. Victor's in Monroe.
Chris was very artistic and had a greeting card business at one time. She loved to cook and bake. She loved animals and enjoyed camping and traveling, especially in the southwestern United States. Christine had a heart of gold and loved and adored her parents, siblings and her grandma Norgord and grandma Fadness.
Chris is survived by her husband, Lenny; mother, Virginia Norgord; step sons, Christopher Speth and Corey (Jennifer) Speth; step daughters, Alissa (Chris Marecek) Speth, Heather (Tom) Jacobson, Tamara (Doug) Richard and Amy (Tim) Coppa; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Lynn (Mike) McLain and Jeanne Berry; brother, Doug (Deb) Norgord; nephews, Nick (Magda) McLain and Andy (Jacki) McLain; niece, Melissa (Zach) Fillmore; and Little boy, Chai (dog). She was preceded in death by her father, George; sister-in-law, Vicki Norgord; brother-in-law, Christopher Berry; nephew, Aaron Berry; and Lenny’s first wife, Theresa.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, with the Rev. Dave Bechtold presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
