Obituary
Mazomanie - Estes LeRoy Kenney, age 82, of Mazomanie, went to be with his Savior on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022. He was born in Kankakee, IL, on Aug. 1, 1939, to Estes and Gladys Kenney.
LeRoy graduated from Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music and from Grace Theological Seminary with a master's degree. After marrying Barbara Van Noord, he spent 2 years working at Good News Bible Camp and later pastored People’s Bible Church in Nashville, MI for 3 years. Then he served as a missionary in Spain for 40 years, starting out in the Evangelical bookstore in Barcelona, and later set out to establish Bible churches and assist other congregations in the Barcelona area. LeRoy enjoyed leading choir, working in Bible camps and exploring places around Spain and Europe. Retiring to Mazomanie, WI, in 2006, he became involved in Curtiss Street Bible Fellowship.
Estes is survived by his wife, Barbara (Van Noord) Kenney, of 60 years; his four children, Karon (Bob) Schneider, Kathy (Trent) Barsness, Kevin (Olga) Kenney and Tim (Jenni) Kenney; his five siblings, Paul (Stephanie) Kenney, Mary (Dave) Montgomery, Richard (Charlene) Kenney, Ruth (Dennis) Orr and Lois (Ken) Perry; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at Curtiss Street Bible Fellowship, 10416 Curtiss Road, Mazomanie, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022. Visitation will be held at the same location from 9 a.m. until the start of the service on Tuesday.
