'John called from Poland Wednesday to let us know that dear Mark had passed away. We are all so sorry. Mark and Uncle Jack had such a special bond when Mark was growing up. Jack always spoke about what fun they had going to the movies. It is bittersweet to remember how they laughed and joked about the old days and debated the merits of candid vs. posed photography. Two men of good humor. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Aunt Chris, Rena and John

A beautiful write-up of Mark's rich life! I will always remember that big house on Chicago Street (go figure) in Green Bay, where Joe and I would have band jams in the living room, some 30+ years ago. I suppose it's the closest thing to what it might be like to play at Levon Helm's Woodstock studio. I appreciate how Mark loved vinyl and had the proper stereo to shake the walls when necessary. I didn't know him that well, but I appreciate the space he shared, and admire the relationship he has with Joe. No doubt these excellent traits and values will continue through his grandchildren and beyond. Let's celebrate his life!

Mark was my nephew and I loved him. He was only 12 years older but he called me “Uncle Stan”. He and my mother had a special relationship. Mark was proud of his Polish (his and my mother) heritage. He was held in high esteem by my family and he will be missed. I’m sorry we didn’t have more contact in our later years. I did get one last phone conversation not long ago thanks to my lovely niece Nancy. I’m grateful for that.
