Mark Patrick Lambert

Sun Prairie - Mark P. Lambert, age 72, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, due to a heart attack. He was born on Dec. 19, 1948, in Berwyn, Ill., the son of Walter Clair Lambert Jr. and Alice Plucinski. Mark graduated from Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Ill., where he was a master swimmer who competed in the butterfly stroke. He graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wis., with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Mark held numerous careers throughout his life including grade school and high school English teacher, mental health worker, pool hustler, and proud owner in the window shade business all in Green Bay, Wis. Mark was into “fast cars and fast women, that’s why guys in his car club called him the cruiser”… Mark was a big fan of the movie, Stripes. He loved movies of all kinds, but especially The Godfather and westerns. Mark also loved music - Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Clapton, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, BB King, the list goes on. He was also huge Shakespeare buff. Mark was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and went to many games at the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field. All of these are things he shared in common with his family, which allowed them countless precious memories together as a close-knit family - conversations and debates about music and movies, watching and attending sports events, enjoying many concerts, and spending holidays together. Mark was always close with his siblings and had a special and unique bond with each of them. Family was so important to him. As a huge fan of Westerns, Mark had a lifelong dream to own a horse and he realized that dream with his horse, Fergie, named after famous Chicago Cub Fergie Jenkins. Mark was so proud of his horse and loved taking his family members to meet Fergie and ride together. Mark also had many a best friend in dogs he had throughout his life, including Pal, Babe, Max, Grace, and Remy. He once had a cat named Heineken, his favorite beer. The last year of his life, Mark moved to Sun Prairie to live with his Sun (his spelling), Joe, to spend six beautiful months with him, his daughter-in-law and two granddaughters who filled him with endless joy. Mark is survived by his son, Joe (Kristin) Lambert; granddaughters, Zoey and “The Mighty” Quinn Lambert; his wife, Jan Lambert; brothers, Clair Lambert and Patrick Lambert (Jodi Domanic); sisters, Mary (Steve) O’Sullivan and Nancy Lambert (Dave McQuillen), nieces, Allison, Colleen and Eleanor; nephews, Dan, Matthew, Michael, Jack and Kevin; and his first wife, Patricia Voga (mother of Joe). He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Clair Lambert Jr.; mother, Alice Plucinski; and dear brother, Danny Lambert. A funeral service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.
