Obituary
COTTAGE GROVE - Beverly Anne Odegaard, age 83, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on May 22, 1942, in Chester, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Luella (Jones) Eggerichs.
Beverly attended Lime Springs High School in Iowa and graduated from Goodhue High School in Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Odegaard on April 12, 1969, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Madison. She graduated from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, School of Nursing in Mason City, Iowa. Bev worked as a registered nurse and a loving caregiver, always taking care of people and patients. She was an active member of the nurses union, advocating for best patient care practices. The ICU was her favorite place to work.
Bev grew up on the family farm in Iowa and remained a farm girl at heart. She was always home for her children so that she could spend time with them. Beverly loved having all of the chairs around her kitchen table full and always had plenty of food for everyone to eat. All of her meals were homemade - she canned her own vegetables and made the best homemade bread, cookies and pies. She made sure to make each holiday extra special for her family. She especially loved cooking with her grandchildren.
Beverly was a faith filled member of Christ the King in McFarland, where she attended daily Mass. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, taking long scenic drives in the country with Larry, and attending Packer games and cheering on the Badgers. She valued her time with her friends, traveling and attending card club. Beverly cherished her time with her children and grandchildren and was thankful for her good life saying, "The good Lord always took care of me."
Beverly will be missed by her sons, Eric (Jenni) Odegaard and Brian (Karen) Odegaard; daughter, Amy (Kent) Nimocks; seven grandchildren, Grace (Brendan) Odegaard, Claire Odegaard, Abby Nimocks, Ella Nimocks, Leo Odegaard, Eli Odegaard and Joseph Odegaard; five brothers, Robert (Joan) Eggerichs, Al (Mary) Eggerichs, Mark (Debbie) Eggerichs, Andy (Margaret) Eggerichs and Earl (Kellie) Eggerichs; sister, Peggy (Lee) Klokow; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luella and Harold; husband, Larry; and brothers, Terry and Jim Eggerichs.
