Paul and I had a special bond. He called me ART since I was a small child when I would visit my relatives in the Vermont Township every chance I could. He was also a favorite of my father's. Maybe because he played golf? He was a cousin I could look up to. He achieved so much in his lifetime. President of the bank was a very prestigious honor. As as kid I would think....wow he must be really rich if he is the president of the bank!!! I would cherish the times I would visit Black Earth to see Paul and family. He was a wonderful person and a special cousin. May God bless him and hopefully I'll see him in heaven! Love you.

I have many good memories of riding to work at the Bank of Madison at the beginning of his banking career. Prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Back in the 1960’s Sandi and I and Joanie and Paul both rented apartments in Elmer Thorson’s fourplex in Black Earth. While there are many special memories from that time, my favorite is when Paul would come home from the bank and without taking time to change out of his shirt and tie, he would go in the back yard with me and get down into his catchers’ crouch and warm up the old pitcher! Only a true friend would ruin a perfectly good shirt like that...and with a smile on his face all the while! I loved Paul like a brother.
