Kathryne Ellen Lenoch

DUBUQUE/MADISON-Kathryne Ellen Lenoch, of Madison, WI, died peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018, at home in the comfort of her family.  Kathryne was born May 8, 1931, on the family farm in Boyden, IA.  She was one of six children born to Elizabeth Gertrude (Lucey) and Matthew Patrick McCabe. Kathryne was fondly referred to as ‘Katie’ or ‘Kate’ by family and friends. In 1953, Kathryne met her husband, Peter in Sheldon, IA, where they were married at St. Patrick’s Church, May 29, 1954. Blessed with ten children, Kathryne dedicated her life to raising her family and took immense pride in doing so. She attended many of her children and grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She especially enjoyed making rosaries, baking bread, countless candies, birthday and wedding cakes for others, and although Irish, mastered a Czech pastry, Kolaches. Her sewing machine was often found on the dining room table and used to make clothes, clowns and other crafts in her spare time. Kathryne had a great sense of humor, wonderful wit and fierce loyalty to her family.  She found solace through her devotion to her Catholic faith. Kathryne is survived by her children, Thomas ‘Chico’ Lenoch of Milwaukee, WI, Ellen (Jerry) Emmerich of Waunakee, WI, Frank (Karen) of Madison, WI, Mike (Janet) of Nashua, NH, Pat (James) of Henderson, KY, Mary Joan (David) of Des Moines, IA, James (Ellen) of Boston, MA, John (Kris) of Kansas City, MO and Mary Therese ‘Terri’ (Mark) of Madison, WI; her grandchildren, Francis, Jennifer (Aaron), Elizabeth, James, Leah, Kate, Ted (Kelsey), Jonathan (Leah), Abrahm, Riley, Jim (Hillary), Sean (Sarah Kate), John, Jeremiah, Thaddeus (Jordan), Jonah, Elijah, David (Jenny), Daniel, Christopher (Minh), Nicholas (Stormi), Katie, Molly, Samuel, Kelsey, Natalie, Isaac, Matthew and Clare; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, William, Henry, Grace, Seth, Connor, Braden, Aaron, Lily and Oliver; her sister, Patricia Coleman and her brother, John (Linda) McCabe; her sisters-in-law, Rita Krall, Pat Lenoch, and Soph Lenoch; and many nieces and nephews. Kathryne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter; her daughter, Ann; her sister, Lucille; her brothers, Matthew and Charles; her sisters-in-law, Magdalen Kasper and Betty Ann McCabe; her brothers-in-law, Leo Lenoch, John Lenoch, Father Francis Lenoch, Robert Coleman, Dick O’Kane, John Kasper and Joseph Krall; her nieces, Mary Meyer, Mary McCabe and Judy McCabe; and her nephews, Stephen Lenoch, Mark Coleman, Tim O’Kane and Jim McCabe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, Madison, WI, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 with Fr. Robert ‘Huey’ Hughes and Fr. Bob Evenson presiding. A visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of mass on Wednesday. Following luncheon, burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Key West, IA. Kathryne’s family wishes to thank Fr. Bob Evenson, Dr. Randall Haas and staff, Agrace HospiceCare staff; especially Cristina, Teresa and Katie, and many family and friends for their kind support, outstanding care and never-ending compassion.
