Joel M Darnell

MADISON-Joel M. “Huc Xete” Darnell, age 33, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare.  He was born on Sept. 2, 1984, in Baraboo, the son of Gale Darnell and Lawrence LaMere.  He graduated from LaFollette High School, class of 2003. He worked as a Security Supervisor for HoChunk enterprises.  Joel was a big fan of the Badgers and Packers.  He loved fishing, rafting, camping and hunting.  He was an avid gamer and always looked forward to poker night with the guys.  Joel is survived by parents; aunts, Barbara Goodbear, Cathy Rawson and Amelia Poulton; uncle, Arnold Darnell; brothers, Garrett, Brock and, Nathaniel; sisters, Cody, Michelle, Audrey, Julia, Ginger, Rosalene, Melanie, Lisa and Emily; his loving dog, Kimber; his Kitty; and many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bennora "Rita" Little Sam and Roy Darnell and other relatives.  Funeral services will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Saturday Jan. 27, 2018. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, and also from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
