WAUNAKEE-Gerald C. "Jerry" Erickson, age 78, of Waunakee, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at UW Hospital. He was born on March 15, 1939, in Pontiac, Mich., the son of Carl and Blanche (Romanski) Erickson. Jerry graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1957, later earning his master's degree in Business from Michigan State University. He married Clareen Pingel on May 17, 1980. Jerry worked in sales for Northwestern Mutual Life, and later at Inn on the Park. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping and just being outdoors. Throughout all of his health struggles, he never failed to have a smile on his face. He was the worlds greatest uncle. Jerry is survived by wife, Clareen "Clare"; his sister, Karen Klukowski of Ludington, Mich; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private Mass will be held. A Celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, it is Jerry's wish to have memorials be made to Fishing Has No Boundaries, Inc. I only met Jerry face to face twice, when he and his wife, Clare, visited Germany and Austria. But I am glad that I had the chance at all to get to know him. He was a very special man with a big humour and a big heart.
I will never forget the fun we had together in Munich and Bregenz.
Although he had to suffer very much the last years, he always was smiling and he never was complaining.
Dear Jerry, now your suffering is over, my friend, and you can rest in peace, wherever you may be now!

I also had the Pleasure to meet Jerry with Clareen , when they drove to Ashland, a few summers ago. Jerry has a contagious smile, bright spirit, and wonderful attitude.
