Obituary
MADISON/FITCHBURG- Roger Verlin Fish, born Oct. 25, 1945, in the beautiful hills of the Kickapoo Valley, left this world on Nov. 5, 2016. He was taken by kidney cancer, which he had stayed ahead of for over 12 years. Roger met Cherith, his future wife and soul mate, at the UW Madison in 1968. He was intellectually curious the rest of his life and enjoyed long and interesting conversations with his many friends. Roger was pre-deceased by his parents, Ceo and Celia; brother, Ronald; and sister, Alice. Roger was a friend to everyone who met him, and words cannot express how much he will be missed by his wonderful family and friends, and loving wife. Goodbye, sweetheart. Roger was my dearest, best and closest friend for over 58 years. He was a brilliant man with many talents, but his greatest asset was his unique ability to be a great friend. He was always there to support his friends in time of need. I was truly blessed to have him as a friend. His loving wife and soul mate, Cherith, has suffered an unimaginable loss, but she's also fortunate that she was Roger's very best friend since the time they met back in 1968. Charles F. Hurlbut
