my name is Cheryl. I never met Kaitlin but she was friends with my daughter Nicole Johansen via the Chrons foundation. (and yet I cry) When I was near death in Feb of this year, Kaitlin was so comforting and supportive to my daughter. She even told Nicole she would come to her (in Milwaukee) in a minute if Nicole needed her. Through her own fights and pain she was willing to come comfort a friend. This is a true testimony as to just what a kind and caring woman she was. I am sorry I was not blessed to have met her but so very grateful she touched my daughter's life. My sincere sympathy to all her family and friends. Your loss is God's gain. Please know that her greatness not only touched you and your family but that she has touched others many miles away.
God bless and comfort you.

Kaitlin was a truly kind and caring person. We shared a love of music and I will always think of her when I listen to Brett Dennen. My heart goes out to everyone who loved her, especially Nate, her parents and her sister. Know that she will live on through the various ways she touched people and how they will remember her.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kaitlin's passing. Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure to meet her living in NY. However, reading these sentiments and sharing stories with bri made me feel as though I did. She was a wonderful young lady. May you find the love and strength to get you through this most difficult time. Keep all the memories close to you always.. My sympathy to you all. Sending my Love to you Bri and your family.

There are no words to describe my sadness at Kaitlin's passing. My guess is that anyone who knew her, even just acquaintances, are mourning the loss of this special soul. I met Kaitlin through social media and our little group did a number of social things together. Because I'm the oldest in the group (by a lot!) most of the ladies had more in common with each other than with me so I ended up drifting away from the group over time. What I can say is this, Kaitlin's spirit was unmatched. She was a fighter and an optimist. She never felt sorry for herself - at least not that I ever saw - and her attitude was my model for dealing with my own cancer. Here are my memories: we shared a love of nerdy books; she was an amazing cook; she introduced us to coloring in coloring books before it was cool; her papercrafting was unparalleled; I still tell people about how she used those cat nail tips on her cat and changed the colors depending on whether it was Badger or Packer season!
Rest In Peace beautiful girl. You gave it your all and made the most of your time on this earth. xoxo
