Ginny was a woman of gentleness and warmth. Being a wife for 63 years, she lived in a household filled with much love and activity with her large family. She loved staying in touch with folks, beginning when she had an elementary school pen pal, to being an avid emailer. This brought her great joy.

Ginny’s greatest joy was being a mom, a grandma, and a great-grandma; not to mention being “mother” to many others that passed through her front door.

We will be celebrating Ginny’s life at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023.

Ginny leaves a legacy of love and kindness, so in lieu of memorials, it’s fitting to share a random act of kindness in her memory. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

The first time I met you and Big Ger was in 1982 and you drove us to LaCrosse to see the Lancers beat Lacrosse Logan on our way to the state tournament. We laughed so hard on the way home and I emended thinking what an awesome family DeDe had. Many years have passed but your spark never faded. Thank you for always making me feel loved and welcome at Woodvale and for making me feel part of your big beautiful family. I posted this picture of you, my Mom, Ded and I from one of our get togethers and will cherish those memories forever. Love JO

Ginny and Jerry were very welcoming to me during my college years when I spent a fair amount of time at the White house. Many good memories of Badger games, Badger band, Wisconsin Singers. Ginny had a long and wonderful life and had many admirers, including my wife Lisa. Rest well Ginny, you touched many lives.
