Al was my first engineer for Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball broadcasts. I will remember him for being a true professional. Always calm, our crew knew Al would take care of any technical issues that might surface during a live broadcast. Al was as good as it gets in our business. He enjoyed his work, and we enjoyed having him with us. A very good man who will be missed. Rest In Peace Al.

Al was my neighbor along with his partner Mark. It was a real pleasure having Al and Mark as neighbors especially at Halloween when they transformed their front yard into a space ship complete with aliens and lights. A witch, tombstones and various pumpkins accompanied the space craft. Kids would come from all over to get treats. My daughter would trick and treat at their home and always get a special treat like a book and a large candy bar. Al was always available to answer my home improvement questions. He was a great neighbor and will be missed greatly. You couldn't have asked for better neighbors than Al and Mark. I will always think of their house as theirs and their cars as Woof 1 and Woof 2. Thanks for being my neighbor and friend.

Mike Jenson / Oakridge, Oregon: I just learned of Als passing. We were high school friends and class mates at the Wisconsin School of Electronics. Al was a good friend and I'm sorry I didn't reconnect with him years ago. Rest in peace Al. Your friend, Mike aka Windy.
