Richard was a very Good friend. He and I served in the Navy during Vietnam so we had that in common and became friends immediately. We regularly had breakfast at the cottage cafe and played Euchre with two other veterans at least 2 times a week,. He was one of the kindest ...gravcious souls I had the honor of knowing. God bless you "Moose!" And thanks for being my friend.

Nicole, Nathan, Rebecca and Family,
You have our Condolences. My husband Russ and I knew Richard and Donna from IHM Church. We became very good friends. After Donna passed we went out to eat and to some events with Richard.
Richard and Donna were special people, and we are going to miss them very much, but at least they will be together now.
RIP Richard. Until we meet again in the hereafter.

Dick was a big presence in our family for over 50 years. Too many memories to list them all. I remember when I first met him - when Donna brought him out to Mom & Dad’s. He seemed like a giant but I was only 12! It feels a bit like a lost era here because it was always Donna & Dick …at the Ketchmark (and later the Anderson) family events and more. He loved going to Canada fishing and went with Randie and even Brett later. The story goes that when it came time to clean the catch of the day Dick would disappear. When Randie asked him about it he said he couldn’t clean them because he was left-handed - they all had a good chuckle! He named our dogs the human dogs and he was right! He was always there for family events (happy and sad), holidays (yes sometimes as grinch lol), and for my sister Donna. They are starting their new era and we hope it is a little bit like fishing in Canada for him…
Rest In Peace Richard…and thank you.

My sympathy to Nicole and Nathan. Your family will surely miss dad and grandpa.Your dad came to Lansing, IA to go fishing in the 80's and stayed at our house. I was good friends with your mom Donna. Richard was so nice to all of Donna's nursing friends when we would gather at their homes. They are now together and at peace with Our Lord.
