Obituary
MADISON-Milda Brakmanis, age 102, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at The Willows Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born on November 6, 1914 in Lutrini, Latvia. Milda was a member of Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Milda is survived by her daughter, Marite (George) Zimmerman; sons, Indulis (Sonya) Brakmanis and Gunars (Cindy) Brakmanis; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Juris; her parents; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, with the Rev. Susan Greenler presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or to the Dane County Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Dear Marite , Indulis, and Gunars , My deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom. I knew your Mom through Marite . She was pretty special. I remember visiting with her on Schenk Street when Marite would be in town. She was so kind and down to earth. She always had a pretty yard . Lots of flowers. Marite, Inch, Gunars, and the rest of your family....so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. I remember when I came back from Nam, your parents allowed me to live in their basement until I moved into an apartment in Middleton with Rick Trevaskis. Also all the times when we were in high school working on cars in their garage. They always welcomed all of us into their home as if we were part of the family.
