Nan was a long time friend from our high school days at Middleton HS. We both were cheerleaders for HS sports, and after many busy years of raising families and living far apart, we reconnected in more recent years, meeting with others for monthly lunches and catching up on news of one smother. We will miss her presence in our group but will hold her in our hearts. Janet Grosse

I really liked my mother-in-law and I'm glad I knew her for the last 44 years. I met Nan when I was 16 and picked up her oldest daughter for a first date at her home on Starker Avenue in Madison, WI. Six years later I married that same daughter and Nan was a grandma to our five children. I have gradually missed her gregarious presence over the past six years due to Alzheimer's that slowly took her from us. May she rest in peace. The poem by Atticus (see pictures) was above her bed in memory care. I had a new appreciation for the words as I sometimes glimpsed the pixie that Alzheimer's could not extinguish.

To The Captain, Todd, my good sports pal, Jenny, Joni, and Juli: I have such fond memories of Nan. She was a great cook at St Dennis and no one stepped out of line on the playground when she was supervising! Her smile is what I remember most when we had our spaghetti dinners at your house before basketball games long before team dinners became popular. She did light up every room with her big smile and friendly demeanor. Hugs to all of you. Terri (Ewelt) Martinson

Dear Grandma, Your laughter, your stories, and the love you gave so freely are a treasure that we all hold close. Thank you for being not just a grandma but a source of strength, joy, and unconditional love. You are dearly missed, but know that your legacy lives on in the love we share as a family. Thank you for being ours. We love you ❤️
