Obituary
LODI-Alvin M. Brager, age 92, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016. He was born on Feb. 17, 1924, the son of Alvin and Viola (Kading) Brager. Alvin was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army. On Nov. 17, 1948, Alvin married Norma Wetherall at First Lutheran Church in Lodi. She preceded him in death in June, 1992. Alvin married Joyce Moore in December of 1993. She preceded him in death in February, 2005. Alvin was a proud dairy farmer. He was rarely idle, having been an avid outdoorsman enjoying both hunting and fishing and volunteering his time at the VA Hospital. He was a member of the Lodi American Legion Post No. 216. Alvin especially loved the time spent with his family. Alvin is survived by his children, Larry (Linda), Julie (Harold "Butch") Schmidt, Richard (Judy), and Edward (Deb); step children, Michael (Kathy) Moore and Mary (Phil) Premo; nine grandchildren, Matthew (Erica) Brager, Sarah Brager, Erin (Pauli) Comi, Nicole (Jim) Henze, Stacy (Jim) Witecha, Samuel (Kayla) Brager, Jodie (Chad) Brager, Daniel (Erica) Brager, and Benjamin (Jessica) Brager; two step grandchildren, Maggie and Rachel Premo; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Aileen) Brager; brother-in-law, Jerry Wetherall; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Norma and Joyce; brother, Cleary; sister, Elaine; and son, Daniel. Funeral services will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 206 Pleasant St., Lodi, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, with Rev. Michael Lee presiding. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Lodi, with military honors being conducted. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main St, Lodi, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 a.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Alvin was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers are with all the members of Bud"s family. I'll always cherish the memories of the many times hunting and fishing with him. He also was a guiding hand when we first moved on the farm on Coyle road. We also had many memories when we were clowns performing with the Lodi legion band (later the soon to be famous band). Once again Thanks for the memories.

I knew Bud and his brother who both volunteered at the VA Hosp. I hunted on his land for about six years. I would always stop and visit with him before I went home. I liked him very much and enjoyed his stories of his past. I was also close to his brother who passed some time ago. I went to visit him couple months ago but he didn't know me. Made me sad but we talked for some time. I will miss him. Herman
