I lived next door to Mr. Patterson for most of my childhood. I remember him always being so friendly with my brother and I. Even though there was sort of a fence that separated the yards he didn't mind if we went into his yard for whatever reason. He was always one of the nicest in the neighborhood. My deepest condolences go out to the family.

I knew John through being an a Wayland Alumina and sang in the choir with him. We always shared memories of Wayland. He was very proud of having John Patterson Way for a year on the circle drive at Wayland.

Mr. Patterson was the BEST English teacher I had while at Wayland. I often read the paper or listen to broadcasters, and ask myself, "Did they not learn proper English!?" He was one the best teachers Wayland ever had, and I was so lucky to have been one of his many pupils. And I never knew he was a Wisconsin native! I extend my sincere sympathy to your family.
