A fifth-generation Madisonian, William "Badger Bill" graduated from Madison East High School in 1960. Bill was always a smiling, friendly face who took time for everyone. We were always grateful for his friendship and attention to his uncle Robert., our grandfather. And he sold darned good cars-we'll drive the truck we bought from him to the service. He has left a beautiful legacy in his work in Madison and in his family. Lauren Cnare and family

Saddened to hear of the passing of Bill. We were classmates and friends for many years. I was married to Dave Douglas' sister Nancy. Lots of memories of family gatherings and, of course, the Ice Cream shops. Dale Hanson, Roseville, CA.

Having been friends and neighbors for 42 years, we have fond memories of the many neighborhood parties held at the friendly Cnare home, the player piano in the basement rec room, the fantastic prime rib for New Years Eve, the game days--the outdoor circle parties--the ever friendly welcoming and sharing with Bill and Nan. We are sorry for your loss and ours. May Nan, Julie, Becky and their families going forward be blessed with all of life's goodness. With deep sympathy, Jon and Ingrid Hanson
