Marie was my Godmother and my mother Evy Evensen Pinther's best life long friend. Marie was always like part of our family, she was fun and loved to talk and have a good time. She was always great at keeping in touch and we especially loved her Christmas letters, she was so proud of her wonderful family. Bob was a friend of my Dad's and his brother Jack flew my Mom from Madison to Chicago on September 15th, 1947. I was born that evening one month early, Mom always said it was because of the bumpy flight. We visited Marie many times in Wisconsin and she spent many happy times with us in Florida. She will be missed by our family!

Marie (and also husband Bob) was very close to our family. She and my mother, Shirley Allen, met at the Jackson Clinic in Madison, WI, and were dear friends forever after. My family and I have so many wonderful memories of growing up with the Jerreds. We especially loved our family vacations at Fence Lake Lodge in Vilas County, all the fun times had on the water, and our downhill skiing trips to the UP. When we children were grown, Marie and Bob and my parents loved their time together at our family cottage near Lac du Flambeau; most evenings were spent playing bridge into the wee hours. Marie and Bob were so proud of their children and grandchildren and in recent years Marie loved telling me stories about everyone in the family; I especially enjoyed the annual Christmas card with a photo of the entire 'clan.' Marie was also very proud of her Norwegian heritage. During my last visit with Marie, we chatted for hours . . . Marie inquiring about my sisters, husband and son. She was very sharp-minded and sincerely interested in what everyone was doing. I am proud to say my chosen middle name is a proud and loving tribute to Marie. I will always have the most fond memories of Marie and the Jerred family and I send you all my deepest condolences. -Jane Marie Allen-Jauch

I am Marie's son-in-law and have known her for over 35 years. I misunderstood her initially but came to find her to be very hospitable and interested in everyone around her. She loved all of her family and made me feel like a blood relative. She was a very good cook and always thought ahead to have foods and drinks that I would like when she knew I was coming for a visit. I will miss her very much.

We remember well, and fondly, Marie and Bob Jerred, as well as their sons and daughters, through Lake Monona Sailing Club. Two of their children came to work at Oscar Mayer where I was employed. Karen was in the same department. Bob and Marie were always gracious, interested in everyone they met, and in supporting civic efforts in Monona and Madison. Fair Winds Bob and Sandy Warren Redart, VA
