I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jack. I worked at the School of Business, at the same time that he did, & he was a total joy! He always had a smile & a kind word when we spoke. He will be sadly missed. I have very fond memories of Jack & his humorous ways. I pray that he is resting in peace & our paths will cross again someday. My sympathies to the family. Nancy Thompto

I always respected and looked up to Me. Mathews while growing up. He was of kind heart, sharp wit and sound illtelect. I'll never forget his passion for 2 seat roadsters and his love of skiing in France with his two sons. Rest in peace sir!

Jack and I shared about 15 or so cousins. We grew up together for many years, worked , golfed, and shared our ambitions as innocent youth. He was a friend who happened to be my cousin. Although many miles apart and we had gone our own way, we kept in touch throughout the years. As we all know, Jack was hilarious! I've always said that the only enemies Jack may have had, were in the courtroom. I just can't believe you're gone Jack. You were always full of life and making people laugh. My heart goes out to Sarah and your boys and the whole family. You will always be in my prayers, and in my heart. I miss you man! Dick Vlasich

Saboor Zafari and I will always have memories of Jack's wit and wisdom which we encountered on his visits to the Second Story Restaurant. He was more than a customer. He became our friend and it was a delight to see him and talk when he came in. On one of Saboor's visits to Madison after moving to California, his first mission was to find Jack. We are so glad that we did, and we offer our condolences to the family. May he rest in peace. Amy Zion and Saboor Zafari
