COTTAGE GROVE-Debra L. Manning, age 54, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 9, 1960. Debbie was a strong and courageous woman with the biggest heart of all. She is survived by her children, Christopher and Nicole Hengel; sister, Stephanie Rhoads; brother, Mark Manning; parents, Jerry and Janice Manning; her peanut (grandson), Owen Hengel; and ex-husband, William Hengel. She is also survived by her many wonderful friends and extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held at DOUBLEDAY'S, 4586 Baxter Rd, Cottage Grove, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deb Manning Memorial Fund, for her children’s education. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

My sincere sympathy goes to Deb's entire family. I baby sat all three of Jay and Janice's children when they were young. I grew up next door to her grandparents and knew most of Deb's extended family. I'm sorry that I did not know Deb as an adult but will always remember the sweet little girl! Please know my thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
