Obituary

SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON-Richard F. Kiley, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Kindred Hearts Memory Care after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Rich was born on Feb. 12, 1944, to Mary and Edward Kiley. He worked for the State Department of Health and Human Services for 25 years, retiring in 2001. Rich was an active community member, boy scout leader, little league and basketball coach. He was a longtime member of St. Bernard Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Rich served on the Dane County Board for 18 years, until 2001. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia; children, Karen (Jamie) Rayshel, Brian Kiley, and Scott (Sara) Kiley; grandchildren, Mathis Rayshel, Rossalyn Kiley, and one on the way (Linnie); siblings, Charles, Delores, Kenneth, David, and Thomas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jane Kiley; and sister-in-law, Pamela Kiley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Avenue, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Entombment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance or Agrace HospiceCare. Many thanks to the staff at Agrace HospiceCare and Kindred Hearts for their loving care of Rich these past two years. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Pat and Family, Eugene and I are so sorry for your. I know that Rich is in a beautiful place now, no more pain. This is a loss for your family, our Church, and our community. He will be missed is so many ways in the city of Madison. But most of all he will be dearly missed by you and your family.

My sympathy goes out to Rich's family. I worked with Rich for many years at State of Wisconsin. He was a wonderful co-worker, mentor, supervisor and very supportive of work incentive and student training programs. Rich will be missed by many in the community including his work which enriched and helped many lives.

Richard Kiley, ooh, my there is so many wonderful things to say about this lovely man. He could make you smile out of this world with laughter with his spectacular sense of humor. Being able to care for richard I will always remember and never forget, he is in my heart forever. He is and was so full of life and had such surprising sparks of energy when you least expected it, May gods love be with you and your family, you'll always be such a lovable and loved person. I will never forget you, your in my heart and soul as the world presses forward, as you are all around us in spirit in love in happiness. :)
